TGF Pizza Delivery Status
TGF Pizza Delivery Status is a mobile UX concept created to improve the experience customers have after placing an order. The project explores how motion, visual feedback and clear status updates can reduce uncertainty while customers wait for their food.
The goal was to make waiting feel more informative and engaging while keeping the interface simple and consistent with the TGF Pizza brand.
MY ROLE : UX/UI & Motion Designer
I designed the delivery status experience from the interface structure through to the animated visual feedback used at each stage. My role involved considering what information customers need after ordering, establishing a clear status hierarchy, designing the individual states and using motion to communicate progress.
PROJECT TYPE
Mobile App UX/UI & Motion Concept
The project explores one specific part of a food ordering experience: the period between checkout and delivery.
Instead of redesigning an entire ordering app, I focused on improving this individual journey and creating a consistent system that could communicate progress clearly as an order moves through different stages.
DESIGN PROCESS
User Journey · UI Design · Visual Feedback · Motion Design · Prototyping
I began by breaking the post purchase experience into the key moments customers need to understand. Each stage was then given its own visual state while maintaining the same overall layout, allowing information to change without forcing the user to relearn the interface.
Motion was incorporated to reinforce each status change and make the transition between stages feel more responsive and engaging.
CORE EXPERIENCE
Order Received → Preparing Your Food → On the Way → Delivered
The four states create a simple progression that allows customers to understand where their order currently sits within the delivery process.
Important information such as the estimated delivery time, order contents and total remains consistently available while the central status area changes to communicate progress.
DESIGN GOAL
Turn waiting into a clearer and more reassuring experience.
Once an order has been placed, customers have very little control over what happens next. The interface therefore focuses on communication.
Clear headings explain the current stage, animated illustrations provide immediate visual feedback, and consistent order information reassures users that they are viewing the correct order. The experience is intentionally simple so users can understand their delivery status within seconds.
Status 1 :
Order Received
The first state provides immediate confirmation that the restaurant has successfully received the customer's order. The animated confirmation graphic reinforces this feedback visually, while the supporting message explains that preparation is about to begin.
The estimated delivery window remains visible alongside the order summary and total, giving users the essential information they are most likely to check immediately after ordering.
Motion purpose: To provide a clear sense of confirmation and reassure the customer that their order has successfully entered the process.
Status 2 :
Preparing Your Food
Once preparation begins, the interface transitions to the second state. The animated chef illustration communicates activity and progress without requiring the customer to interpret complicated tracking information.
The surrounding interface remains consistent with the previous state so that the change in status becomes the main point of attention.
Motion purpose: To visually communicate that the order is actively being prepared and that progress is being made.
Status 3 :
On the Way
The delivery state communicates one of the most important moments in the journey: the order leaving the restaurant.
The animated delivery scooter provides an immediate visual indication of movement, supported by the simple message confirming that the pizza is on its way. Maintaining the estimated delivery time and order information gives the customer additional context while they wait.
Status 4 :
Delivered
The final state closes the journey by confirming that the delivery has been completed. The pizza animation replaces the previous progress imagery and is paired with a short, positive message to give the experience a clear ending.
At this stage, the interface can return the customer to the menu, completing the journey while providing an obvious next action.
Motion purpose: To provide closure, confirm completion and transition the user out of the tracking experience.
